PYTHON PRESS FILTRATION AND DEWATERING SYSTEM

The Python Press uses 1500 psi direct pressure to dewater mineral type slurries resulting in low moisture cakes and clear liquid discharge.

Thermal energy costs more to remove water than dewatering using the Python Press and its mechanical methodology. It makes sense to remove as much water as possible using the Python Press before any necessary thermal drying.

The Python Press is capable of capturing suspended solids particles down to 0.2 micron. The Python Press will recover over 98% of the available liquid phase. This improved cost benefit is due to the unique Python Press high pressure filtration and dewatering technology.

 
 

Slurry containing suspended solids is pumped into the space between the cloth covered filter body and the urethane pressure transfer sleeve.

Pressure is applied up to 1500 psi which squeezes the urethane pressure transfer sleeve causing the migration of the suspended solids to the filter cloth where they form a cake, and forcing the liquid through the filter cake, allowing it to pass through the filter cloth.

Cake wash and / or air purge are optional steps in the cycle. After the initial high pressure step, the pressure transfer sleeve is drawn back and the wash media or air is introduced between the filter cake on the cloth and the pressure transfer sleeve.

The Python Press creates a filter cake very low in residual moisture that is ideal for further materials handling operations.

 

High pressure is applied forcing the wash liquid or air through the filter cake removing additional moisture.

When as much liquid as possible has been removed, the pressure transfer sleeve is drawn back using vacuum and the filter body assembly is lowered. Air introduced into the filter body flexes the filter cloth to aid in filter cake discharge.

The filter body is retracted automatically and the cycle begins again.

 

The Python Press creates a cake that is very dry, compact, and easily stackable. Because almost all of the liquid has been removed from the filter cake the weight is much less than what it would have been with the liquid weight still present. Less weight transported means lower transport costs.

The filter cake created by the Python Press can be easily stacked, thereby reducing the volume taken up in the transport container. Less containers means lower tranport costs.
